Backing up your data and personal settings in case something goes wrong is always a good idea. The last thing you need is to lose your important files, precious photos, videos, browser Bookmarks/Favorites, and other personal settings.
There are many different back-up solutions available out there: Cloud systems, off-site services (such as Carbonite), and local back-ups. For most home computer users we recommend a simple local back-up system managed by an incrementally-saving backup program (such as SyncBack) that automatically saves exact duplicates of all your files to an external hard drive.
If you don't have a data back-up management system in place, you should move quickly to do so before the 'unthinkable' happens and everything is gone for good!
Is your computer unable to start? Are you receiving the message 'A disk read error occurred. Press CTRL-ALT-DEL to restart', something similar, or other error messages?
Or do you have a hard drive containing important personal files (documents, pictures, music, etc.) with no way to access them?
As long as there is no physical damage to a hard disk drive, we here at Upper Cape Cod PC Services can access and retrieve these files for you.
